What is Hybrid Energy System?
Energy systems created using multiple energy sources are called hybrid energy systems. Systems created using multiple energy sources such as solar and wind, solar and diesel generator, wind and diesel generator or solar, wind and diesel generator systems are called hybrid energy systems.
With the hybrid energy system, you can meet your electricity needs by taking advantage of renewable energy sources for 12 months of the year.
In the summer months, when the sun’s rays are strongest and brightest, the wind speed is low. In winter, when there is less solar energy, the wind speed is high. Efficient energy production in wind and solar energy systems differs at different times of the day and year.
In other words, solar energy can be used as an alternative on days when the wind speed is insufficient or inefficient. Thus, the continuity of energy production in the system is ensured.
Hybrid applications are especially applied in systems where there is a summer-winter energy requirement and no interruption should be allowed or the installed solar or wind energy system should be supported. In hybrid applications, it is possible to use solar, wind and diesel energy sources as double or triple. The system is exactly the same as the working system of Solar Energy or Wind Energy. It is only added to the system. .
